Welcome!

Sterling Insectary, located in Kern County, California, the agricultural mecca of the Southern San Joaquin Valley, produces and sells predatory mites and beneficial insects to commercial farming and businesses worldwide. Our Beneficials control numerous pest mites, including the two-spotted, pacific, Willamette, and spruce spider mites, persea mites, broad mites, brown almond mites, European and southern red mites, cyclamen mites, and eriophyid mites. Our mealybug destroyer beetles consume vine, grape, citrus, long-tailed, obscure and affinis mealybugs, and our parasitic wasp or parastoid, Goniozus, attacks the navel orangeworm caterpillars.

We strive to produce the highest quality predators at economically viable prices. The Sterling Insectary strain of predatory mite is resistant to many of the commonly used chemicals in conventional farming; thus, our mites can be used in conventional, sustainable and organic farming.

Our Secret...

At Sterling Insectary, we keep a close eye on quality control. Through constant statistical and genetic sampling we can assure our customers that they are receiving the quantity and quality of mite they ordered. We are constantly striving to improve our predacious mites’ resistance to certain pesticides and miticides. Through breeding resistance into predacious mites we feel they will become an even more effective tool in spider mite control.

Enjoy browsing our website to find more detailed information about our products and us. Feel free to email or call us with questions; we are always glad to help commercial farmers interested in using biological control, IPM, and good bugs against bad bugs
